Frequently asked questions

+Is my CSV uploaded to your servers?

No. Parsing and .QBO generation run entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.

+Which QuickBooks versions can import the .QBO?

The output uses OFX 1.0.2, which is supported by QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop (2015 and newer), and QuickBooks for Mac.

+What CSV formats do you support?

Any CSV with a date column and an amount column (or a debit + credit pair) works. We auto-detect columns from PayPal, Stripe, Chase, Bank of America, Wise, Shopify, Square, Wells Fargo and more.

+What happens with duplicate transactions?

Each transaction gets a stable FITID hash of date + amount + description + row index. QuickBooks uses this to detect and skip duplicates on re-import.

+My import failed with an error — what now?

Email support@csvconverters.com with the QuickBooks error message and we'll help you troubleshoot.

+Do you support multi-currency?

Yes. Pick any ISO currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, CHF and more) or type a custom 3-letter code. If your CSV has a currency column, we auto-detect it. QBO files carry one currency per file, so split mixed-currency exports before converting.

+Can I import into Xero or Wave instead?

The .QBO format is QuickBooks-specific. For Xero, use OFX or their CSV importer directly. Wave supports OFX imports.

+Is there a paid plan?

No — CSV2QBO is 100% free. No signup, no subscription, no per-file fee.
